Newborn Session FAQs
When should I book my newborn session?
I recommend reserving your newborn session during pregnancy, ideally in your second or early third trimester. Due dates are used to hold availability, and your actual session date is scheduled once your baby arrives.
When will the session take place?
Newborn sessions typically take place within the first 7–14 days after birth, when babies are still very sleepy and comfortable being posed. Once your baby arrives, you’ll reach out and we’ll schedule your session.
What if my baby arrives early or late?
No worries at all. Your due date is simply used as a placeholder. Sessions are scheduled after baby arrives, and flexibility is built in for early or late arrivals.
What if my baby is fussy or needs to eat during the session?
That’s completely expected. All newborn sessions are paced with baby in mind and include time for feeding, soothing, and breaks as needed. There is no rush.
What should we bring to the session?
You don’t need to bring much at all. Diapers, wipes, a pacifier (if used), and extra formula or bottles if applicable are helpful. Everything else needed for the session is provided.
Can parents be included in the photos?
Yes — parent images are included with Classic and Heirloom newborn sessions.
The Simple Newborn session is designed for baby-only portraits.
Can siblings be included?
Sibling images are included with the Heirloom Newborn session only. This allows enough time and flexibility to keep the experience relaxed for everyone.
What should parents wear?
Neutral, soft-toned clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus on your baby. Simple outfits without logos or bold patterns are recommended. I’m always happy to offer guidance if you’re unsure. You also have access to the client closet. I can send you the options so you are prepared before your session takes place.
Where do sessions take place?
Newborn sessions take place in-studio in Moore, OK.
How many images will we receive?
Each collection includes a set number of hand-edited images, with the option to upgrade to the full gallery on select sessions. Details are listed with each newborn collection.
How do gallery upgrades work?
For sessions that include an upgrade option, you’ll select your included images first. If you’d like additional images or the full gallery, that option is available after viewing your proof gallery.
What if we need to reschedule?
Life with a newborn can be unpredictable. If illness or unexpected circumstances arise, we’ll work together to reschedule when possible.
